Mindset Sunday

Hello women of beauty and strength. In a world full of fast-changing parts and uncertainty, it is important to identify the people in your life that will build versus destroy.  I wished someone had told me this a few years ago, especially when our kids were younger.  For the majority of our kids’ lives, it was just us and them.  My husband and I kept our heads down and navigated raising four kids as best we could, support wasn’t readily available.  Truth be told, we didn’t seek out assistance as we should have, my mentality was, it was our responsibility and we had to struggle through it. I bring this word to you because going through life without having people you can depend on is an exercise in mental and physical fatigue, especially when you’re navigating unchartered territories.  Identify the people in your life you can call, be it to listen while you rant, to give advice, a helping hand, or anything other help you might need.  When you’re in the process of building or just life in general, circumstances can change on a dime.  Sometimes those circumstances can be so chaotic that they can leave you feeling isolated and out of control.  Here’s the rub, don’t allow pride or worry to disorient you, seek help, don’t struggle in silence.  If you don’t already have a support system, build one by doing an inventory assessment of the people in your life.  Identify the helpers, defenders, leechers (yes, I said it), listeners, talkers, and everything in between because no one is truly an island to themselves. As always thanks for spending some time with me and keep on keeping on.
