Hello my loves! I hope you are all in a space where you are able to strive and thrive. This week, I’m going way way back. As a teenager, I loved watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. I loved watching Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Commanders Data, Geordi LaForge, and Riker battle their most fearsome nemesis. One such antagonist was the Borj. They were a collective that worked together for the good of the whole with the catchphrase, “resistance is futile”. Now I’m not being morbid but as I ponder anew “resistance is futile” it dawned on me the solid fact of that simple phrase. Sometimes I feel like resistance is futile, between the limiting beliefs and the math that sometimes don’t add up, resistance sometimes feels pointless. What I try to keep at the forefront is, the things I’ve regretted are the things I’ve never done. We are all given an allotted time on earth and at the end of my life, I don’t want limiting beliefs to be the defining epithet of my life. Being intentional has become important to me because it focuses my actions on a purpose-driven life well lived. That translates to feeling “the fear” but doing it anyway and not allowing perfection to be the enemy of the good. As always, thanks for spending some time with me, and keep on keeping on.
